Dr. Michael P. Newman

Dr. Michael P. Newman has been a chiropractic physician and FCA member in Miami for the past 45 years. In addition to earning his B.S. in Biology (1976) and Doctor of Chiropractic (1978) degrees from the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic, Dr. Newman also holds certifications in Massage Therapy (1974) and Acupuncture-Meridian Therapy (1984).

Dr. Newman has treated numerous celebrities: the cast of Miami Vice, multiple athletics groups, Momentum Dance Company and the FIU Dance Department. Also traveling several times to provide Chiropractic care to communities in South America.

A native of Miami, Dr. Newman is an active member of local civic and business organizations including as past-president of the Rotary Club of South Miami and Temple Beth Or Miami. As an advocate of cooperation and sharing knowledge for the good of the community, he holds a firm belief in the healing potential of the human body, frequently lecturing on ways to “support the frame,” structurally, mentally, and chemically.

Past speaking engagements include presentations on work injury prevention for the National Association of Letter Carriers, on Inflammation and CVDP for Positive Alternative Therapies in Healthcare (PATH), the DCCS, the Connecticut Chiropractic Association, and the Arizona Chiropractic Association on “Laser Therapy in Clinical Practice.”

Dr. Newman has stayed at the leading edge of the profession, always learning and searching for innovations in healing and new ways to help his patients. He works closely with the Baptist Health Spine Center, along with many Worker Compensation agencies, such as DOL OWCP, treating and advising on non-opiate pain management.

Dr. Newman lives in the Kendall area of South Miami with his wife, Patricia. His four sons and many grandchildren bring him much joy & pride. The youngest of whom, David, used to work at the clinic as a chiropractic assistant & massage therapist. He is now pursuing a career in healthcare as a Chiropractic Physician and Acupuncturist in Portland, Oregon.

He has represented the Dade County Chiropractic Society’s to the County’s Inter-Agency Council on Smoking and Health and was instrumental in passing the first Florida Clean Indoor Air Act. Dr. Newman also served on the committee to form the Miami-Dade College Chiropractic Assistant program, was involved the Dade County School District Citizen’s Advisory Committee, along with the Florida State Citizen’s Advisory Committee.
